I believe we all remember this headline report on MINI DSG VW Recall 2013- One of biggest recalls in VW’s history, because of problems with faulty 7-speed gearboxes which cause a loss of power while driving and thousands more are being recalled because of fuse problems which cause lights to cut out. A part of uobd2 users post in the forum MINI DSG saying their Dsg reader dq200 & dq250 can’t work because a windows dialogue popups displaying “License expired” after clicking the icon “MINI DSG”. “License expired” does not mean it can’t work, but you need a code to active it. Then how to get the code? Just do as the following steps.

Step 1: When the windows dialogue popup displaying “License expired”, click OK, then another one popup showing machine ID, press “ctrl+v” to paste, and click OK.

Step 2: Create one txt file in the desktop and into it paste the machine ID, then send it to your seller for activation. 

Step 3: your seller send back the license file activated, cut it and paste it in to the Mini DSG reader folder. 

Step 4: right click the green icon “DSG Reader” to open it, then close the appeared screen, and again right click “DSG Reader”-send to-Desktop(create shortcut) MINI DSG.
